We enjoy seeing our clients succeed in their endeavours. Artist and designer Karin Montgomery has recently been achieving wide spread recognition for her meticulous recreation of heritage flowers crafted out of paper. Each arrangement challenges the viewer to look more carefully and to reevaluate not only the detailed ultra-realism she has achieved right down to the fine stamens and translucent petals: but the story of each plant she is highlighting.
Karin began her project during the COVID lockdown, and it didn’t take long for her to become passionate about the history of the plants. Since then, she has developed her skills not only with paper crafting but
also in terms of the inks she uses to capture the reality of each flower.
Karin’s work has been exhibited and has sold out on each occasion. Also, in 2024 Te Papa Museum commissioned a collection of flowers which will be exhibited next year. More recently the Camellia Society commissioned a set of camellias which have been on display at Object space in Ponsonby.
On one enjoyable morning Karin shared her story as our team admired her wonderful creations. It was a chance to remind ourselves that our firm is not just about finance – it is about the achievements of our clients.
